Today AMURTEL conducted a Psychological First Aid (PFA) and Selfcare workshop at the Siret border point. There were 30 participants from different organizations. The workshop also had a short art therapy session in order to apply what they learned during the training: drawing what self-care means to them.
Testimonials: “I need to rest more in order to give my best to others”; “I think we need to take care of team members too”; “I will put This drawing in my room in order to remember to love and take care of myself”;
Psychological First Aid is an initial disaster response intervention with the goal to promote safety, stabilize survivors of disasters and connect individuals to help and resources. PFA is delivered to affected individuals by mental health professionals and other first responders. The purpose of PFA is to assess the immediate concerns and needs of an individual in the aftermath of a disaster, and not to provide on-site therapy.
The seminar will be repeated in both Romanian and English and more topics are being prepared.
