Civil Society Coordination Meeting on November, 3rd, 2022 – Meeting Minutes

1. Educational programs   

Alina, Bucovina Institute: A new after-school program for refugee children was opened in Ipotești within After School Colibri. At the Association headquarters, in Suceava, a kindergarten group, Clever Children, was opened, with a capacity of up to 20 children.

Next week, a job fair will be held at the headquarters, in collaboration with AJOFM, where available jobs will be presented and counselling for refugees in applying for a job.

Between November 7-9, for 3 days, the RO-UA Film FEST festival will take place, in which short films will be presented on various themes, one being the war in Ukraine, and the best film will be awarded. The festival will take place in three schools, each day in a different school, and in the hallways of the school, there will be an exhibition with the works of Ukrainian children from the project, as well as pictures from Ukraine, before and after the bombing.

 

2. Mihail Residential Center, Burdujeni

Maria, Fundația FARA: The residential centre has been operating at total capacity since the beginning of the refugee crisis. For 18 refugees from the regions of Ukraine severely affected by the bombings, the centre represents “home”. Here, they are provided with everything necessary for daily living, people participate in support groups, language courses and participate in social activities. Also, all people have temporary protection and are registered with a family doctor.

 

3. Support programs for refugees

Adriana, IOM: In Rădăuți, in partnership with the Rădăuțiul Civic Association, course programs for refugee children, accommodation and financial support programs are organised.

 

4. Winter preparations

Viorel, Star of Hope: In the centres of Dorohoi and Moara, with a percentage of full occupancy, specific care services are provided for the needs of the people accommodated, and educational activities are carried out for children. During this period, winter preparations for the heating system in containers are made by replacing devices with more efficient ones, as well as other goods are provided. 

 

5. Training for specialists and volunteers

Erin,  Good Neighbours UK: Training continues next week, on November 8-9, in Romanian and English, in Suceava.
