1. Accommodation
- ISU can offer information regarding the accommodation and transportation. They have the information centralized and available in the command center, and also an officer on duty in the camp (usually this person is using a tablet);
- Is there any procedure that ISU follows to know the current available places for accommodation? They should at least have a list with the phone numbers of the coordinators, in order to call them and find if they have available accommodation;
- Organizations that offer accommodation could have a meeting to discuss their proposals to ISU for a better coordination of these activities;
- A bilingual (RO + EN) coordinator of an organization offering accommodation should facilitate such a meeting – none was identified during the current meeting;
=> The coordination center will try to identify such a coordinator;
2. Info Point Schedule
- The link to the Info Point Schedule spreadsheet is posted in the description of the group Coordonatori ONG – Siret;
- Organizations that could also provide staff for the position of Info Point Coordinator should refer the respective persons to Mihai Papuc for the relevant training;
- Any organization could cover any number of positions inside the Info Point, as long as they have the properly trained personnel for this;
- It is important for the organizations to check the schedule in advance to avoid having five people for a position in one day and none in the next day;
- It was proposed to have a small stock of basic items in the Info Point for the night, when the other tents are closed;
- There should be a list with the needs and the organizations could say the products they can bring;
=> Maria Araujo will create the above list and share it with all the organizations;
3. Transportation
- ISU coordinates the transportation;
- All transportation offers need to be presented to ISU, at the command center (in person or through their dispatch numbers);
- ISU personnel answers to the inquiries done by refugees, referring them to vetted transportation offers;
- All transports needs to fill in the documents with the data of the passengers – the forms are provided by ISU at the command center.
4. Children Friendly Spaces
- Existing capabilities:
- Save the Children has two tents for the children;
- World Vision has a tent for temporary accommodation;
- The Blue Dot has facilities for children / mothers with children;
- At the tent for people with disabilities (Star of Hope) there are games for children with special needs;
- DSP manages the Mother & Child room at the entrance of the command center;
=> Organizations working in the children protection area could come up with proposals for the authorities regarding children friendly spaces (special places where children can receive psychological aid);
5. Other points on the agenda
- Flux of people:
- The number of refugees crossing the border daily is stable (3.000 entered, 2.700 left Romania through the Siret border crossing during the previous day);
- Humanitarian help to people crossing the border on a daily basis to get supplies:
- Organizations should exchange best practices in dealing with these cases, making sure they respect the humanitarian principles.
